UNREST IN KASHMIR and It's effect on tourism

Clashes and Shutdown Paralyze Life in Kashmir for 56th Consecutive Day

The Kashmir Valley continues to reel under turmoil as clashes persist and a shutdown cripples daily life for the 56th day. The situation remains tense, with reports of casualties and injuries mounting with each passing day.

In response to escalating tensions, the army has been deployed in several areas of North Kashmir to maintain order and quell unrest. The clashes have resulted in numerous casualties, with many protesters sustaining critical injuries and requiring urgent medical attention in hospitals across the region.

The unrest erupted following the killing of Burhan Wani last month, sparking massive protests throughout Kashmir. As a result, markets, trade activities, and educational institutions have remained shuttered for over seven weeks. Security forces have resorted to firing upon agitated demonstrators, tragically claiming the lives of more than 75 individuals in the Valley.

The prolonged unrest has also dealt a severe blow to the region's tourism industry, with reports indicating that approximately 400,000 tourists have canceled their bookings for the Valley since the onset of the turmoil.
