Doodhpathri, famously known as the Valley of Milk, is a picturesque hill station located approximately 42 kilometers from Srinagar city. Its name derives from the milky white water and lush green meadows that characterize this enchanting destination. Recently, my friend and I decided to embark on an adventure to Doodhpathri, opting for a unique mode of travel - my bike.
Our journey began in Srinagar city, and we chose a challenging route that led us through rugged paths and breathtaking landscapes. Despite the difficulties, the fresh mountain air filling our lungs and the serene fragrance of the meadows made every moment worthwhile. After navigating for about two hours, we finally arrived at our destination, feeling invigorated by the journey.
Upon reaching Doodhpathri, we indulged in a late afternoon lunch at a local restaurant, where serendipity struck as we ran into a batch mate. Sharing stories and laughter over a meal added an unexpected charm to our adventure.
Eager to explore further, we decided to hire two horses and set off towards the river of milky water. The horseback ride allowed us to soak in the stunning surroundings as we made our way to the riverbank. There, I found myself sitting beside the flowing water, basking in the warmth of the sun on my face while the cool water gently caressed my feet, providing a moment of tranquility unlike any other.
Before heading back, we savored some fresh corn, savoring the flavors of the region. As we journeyed back on our bikes, I couldn't help but feel a sense of fulfillment and gratitude for the dream-like experience we had just encountered at Doodhpathri.
Traveling to such a breathtaking destination on my bike was a surreal experience, one that will remain etched in my memory for years to come. Doodhpathri truly lives up to its name as the Valley of Milk, offering a blend of natural beauty and serenity that captivates the soul.
